Presently my work includes designing, travel teaching at national conventions, shops and studios, teaching in my own studio as well as mentoring other artists. I continue to be a student taking classes as often as I can. When time permits I still do special commissioned murals and pieces. At this time I hold the following qualifications as an artist, a TDA (teacher of decorative arts), B.F.A., major Painting and Design and M.A., major Art History, Certified Jansenart Traditons Teacher "Genesis" Instructor, Delta Associated Designer, Daler Rowney Associated Designer, Robert Simmons Associated Designer.C-Dan and S.D.P. members, Vintage Painters of Niagara founding member. I have developed a line of self published pattern packets that are distributed by myself and Stonebridge Collection, Folk Art Enterprises, Folk art kits (down loadable patterns), Packets Unlimited, The Tole house. My books, the Cottage series, are published through Viking Woodcraft, Volumes 1-6 by Sharon and Gayle Publications. As an author my projects and articles have appeared in many magzines. My roots began in England, hence my passion for Cottage scenes. My career spans over forty years in a variety of medias. Having taught in English and Canadian Secondary Schools for many years, I was honored to assist in the design and implementation of an Art as Therapy Program for Gifted and Special Needs children in the Peel Board of Education. I was introduced to Decorative Art in 1984 and have immersed myself in this industry ever since. Teaching Decorative Art has afforded me the opportunities to meet and work with many gifted and talented artists. Everyday brings me challenges to the skills that I have as designer, teacher, mentor and visionary. Decorative Painting knows no limits to my learning and sharing.
